Obtaining a marriage license in Hawaii is a simple process! You must have a valid driver’s license or other form of legal photo ID (passport, etc). Do not bring a birth certificate as that is not needed. There is a $70.00 state fee paid directly to the agent or you can now pay the State of Hawaii on-line for the marriage application. The license is good for thirty days after issue by the marriage license agent.

We provide marriage license appointment booking free of charge. We will schedule Your appointment with the Hawaii State Agent usually a day or so prior to the wedding date. The marriage license appointment is only 15 minutes long. Both partners must be at least 19 years of age or have written parental or legal guardian permission. There is no waiting period, no residency requirement and no blood tests are required. Hawaii makes it a very easy process.

Foreigners can be married in Hawaii with a valid passport or visa.
If a divorce was finalized for either partner within the last three months, please bring the final decree. If over 3 months do not bring it.
The certified copy of the Hawaii wedding marriage certificate is mailed to the married couple approximately 3 weeks after receipt from the officiant. Within a week after your wedding, you can access your temporary marriage certificate online using your Locator ID.
If the certified copy is needed sooner, the marriage license agent will provide a request form, which can be mailed to the Vital Records Section along with a $10 fee charged by the Department of Health for this service.
